Celebrate Freedom Day in Taylor, Texas!

Juneteenth is a national holiday in observance of the emancipation (freeing) of slaves in the U.S. This holiday started right here in Texas, where slaves were freed June 19, 1865, three years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

The Taylor, TX Juneteenth Committee will celebrate Juneteenth with a Festival, Saturday, June 15, 5:00PM – 11:00PM in Fannie Robinson Park, Taylor, Texas. We will commemorate the actual holiday with the first Annual  Juneteenth Parade & Brunch on June 19, 2024 starting at 9am with brunch at the Dickey-Givens Community Center immediately following.
